May Meeting

Our May meeting was a special one for many reasons.  We got to serve you ladies by each of you having your time in the "spa" room to relax and let us pamper you.  We had an absolutely amazing speaker, Mary Brown Royal, who really spoke to our hearts.  And it was also our last meeting of the year.  It was an amazing year!  I know that I made some great connections with fellow moms, and my cup overflows with all that I learned from you amazing moms.  I can only hope that something this year, spoke to you, touched your heart, and gave you some peace in all that we do as wives and mothers.

You all took a prayer card on your way out, and whether or not you made a little holder for it please keep that person in your thoughts and prayers over the summer.

Our brunch/chocolate bar was delicious as always this month!  Thank you Table 3&4 for a wonderful end of the season feast.  The Best Dish goes to Celia Berrier for her Chicken Salad!  Check the recipe tab above if you would like her recipe.

Just because it's summer and we won't be meeting once a month, please don't let that stop you ladies from getting together and keeping in touch!  The Facebook page is there for just that reason, to keep everyone connected so feel free to post on there and post often!  Also playdates will continue over the summer, invites will go out as always from Facebook.  If you know of anything happening in town feel free to share that as well.  The busier we keep our kiddos this summer the better we will all be and the more memories we can make the better!

I hope everyone has an amazing summer and thank you SO much for making the 2012-2013 year of Mom2Mom a success!  We couldn't do any of it without you!

April Meeting

Our April meeting was great!  We had an amazing speaker, (of course I'm just a little biased lol), David
Davis who filled us all in on how easy it is to recycle and where to take it.  We now all know what we can and cannot recycle and where some of those products end up after they are recycled.

Our craft was a mix of recycling and planting, since Spring is finally here!  Though you wouldn't have
known it yesterday or today.  But we needed this rain something awful so we'll take it and thank the Lord for it!  Your cans turned out so cute and I'm sure your little ones will love watching those sunflowers start to sprout.

The food was yummy as usual, and Best Dish went to Kara Duke for her Blueberry French Toast Casserole.  Check the Recipe tab above for her recipe.

Jan shared with us in her mentor moment which really touched me as I'm sure it did most of us as moms.  We all have a great responsibility to plant the seeds of Faith in our little ones so that as they grow and blossom they will continue to bloom, grow in their own Faith, and then in turn plant seeds of their own in others around them.

We only have one more meeting left this year and just let me tell you, you do not want to miss it! It will involve chocolate, spa treatments, and great fellowship!  Hope to see you there and as always bring a friend!

March Meeting

Spring is in the air and we brought it in right with our March meeting.  We had so much fun making our baskets.  Jenny Antoline from Gypsy Baskets came and helped us makes some really beautiful baskets.  I got some pics of baskets in progress but not any finished so if you finished yours please share a pic on our Facebook page!

We were blessed this meeting to have 5 wonderful speakers!  Lauren spoke to us about CASA.  She explained it's role and what would be expected of us as volunteers.  It's a wonderful program!  If you missed the meeting or just want more info you can visit their website HERE.  Sally Hood spoke to us about the Faith Refuge of Wichita Falls.  It's an amazing facility, helping women and children to get back on their feet and giving them the resources to do so.  You can read more about how you can help and donate HERE.  Sheila and Lisa visited us from the Children's Home a part of the Children's Aid Society.  They offer a safe place for children and teens to go to escape the streets or unsafe home conditions.  There are many ways that you can help them including but not limited to donating time, money, and clothes.   Read more about them HERE.  Beth Moret filled us in on what Grace Ministries is and how we can volunteer or help out.  Grace Ministries offers food assistance as well as help with utility bills and rent.  Read more about them HERE and how you can help. And our very own Alia spoke to us briefly about the Meals on Wheels program in Burkburnett and how and where to go if you are interested in doing a route for them.

Add all the above with some GREEN food for St. Patty's Day and I guess you could say we had a pretty awesome morning.  Our winner of "Best Dish" this month was Jill Moody!  She made some amazing Spinach & Artichoke Dip.  You can find the recipe in the Recipe Tab above.

As always be sure to follow M2M on Facebook to stay up to date on upcoming events.  See you all in April!

February Meeting

Our February meeting was a special one, well all our meetings are special, but February is the month of love and Valentine's Day so what better month to talk about love and our roles as wives?

"Be devoted to one another in love.  Honor one another above yourselves." Romans 12:10

We, as women get pulled in so many directions every day, and though sometimes it is hard to fill all the roles that are asked of us, our most important role is that of a wife.  We must cherish our marriage like nothing else.  We were made for our husbands, to love our husbands, support our husbands, and follow them.   It's so easy as we minister to others and try to be  Christ like in other ways to lose that connection, to take for granted that special bond that you have with your spouse.  ALWAYS make your husband and your marriage a priority above all else!

To help drive that message home, our craft was "52 Reasons Why I Love You".  If you have yours done please share a picture on Facebook, we'd love to see the final results!

Celia and her table provided some delicious food from brunch to chocolate fondue.  "Best Dish" went to Summer Harrison for her French Breakfast Puffs!  If you would like the recipe just click HERE

We talked a lot about Love Languages.  Did you find our what yours was?  Did you have your husband take the survey to find out his?  Were you surprised?  Even if you already knew, it's still something fun to do with your spouse.  It's also a good communication tool, something to get the conversation started.

Our mentor moment was a heartfelt talk from our own Jan Holtzen.  She emphasized the importance of not taking our spouses for granted and also the difference between men and women.  Something about Spaghetti and Waffles lol

We want to say goodbye and good luck to Starla, this was her last meeting before she leaves for Colorado.  You will be missed Starla, and we wish you the best of luck on your new adventure!

Thank you ladies for a wonderful meeting and sharing in some amazing fellowship!  Be sure to stay tuned to Facebook for the date, place, and time for our Feb. play date.  I'll post it as soon as it's all set in stone.  Happy Valentine's Day ladies!!!

January Meeting

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break! It was so great catching up with everyone this morning and I hope you guys had a good time.

Our speaker Bill Liggett shared with us how important it is for us to read the Bible WITH our children, not just TO our children.  It's also important for them to see us reading the Bible ourselves.  He handed out an amazing book full of children's Bible stories to all of us moms to share with our kiddos.

Our craft was the Children's Training Bible, another great tool to help keep the word of God alive in our homes on a daily basis.  If you were at the meeting today and didn't order a kit and want to just click HERE and find out everything you need to know.

Table 4 did an excellent job with lunch.  All the soups were so good, and it was the perfect soup day.  But there can only be one winner and this month's "Best Dish" award goes to Valarie Wall!  She made some amazing Chicken and Dumplings.  Check the recipe tab above to get the recipe.  And also a shout out to Kara for coming up with the whole muffin pan for sampling the soup idea.  Such a simple idea, but such a GREAT one!

Be sure to "friend" Mom2Mom on Facebook to get all the invites to our events and reminders about MDO and future meetings.
