November Meeting

I can't believe that it's already November!  Where did the year go?!  It all goes by so fast! That was one focus of our November meeting.  Jan Holtzen, our speaker, our Mentor Mom, and someone I am blessed to call a friend spoke about how important it is to capture the moments.  Sometimes we get so caught up in sticking to our schedules that include, sports, meetings, playdates, that we let moments just pass us by. Write down that joke that your kiddo just told you and had you laughing. Not because it made any sense, most of their jokes don't, but because he or she thought it was the funniest thing ever! Start a photo album, scrapbook, or journal documenting their little lives. Someday when you are older, and they are to, you both can look back at these and smile and there will be no doubt in their minds how very much they were and are loved.

We also discussed  "The Invisible Woman".  Here are some signs that you might be "Invisible"
  • Have you ever been in a room full of people and still felt alone?
  • When you are talking do you ever feel like no one is listening?
  • Do you feel overworked and unappreciated?
  • Do you feel like your only identity is as your husband's wife, or your child's mother?
  • Is that how people greet you, as you husband's wife or your child's mother?
  • Is that how you see yourself?
If you answered yes to any of these, then you may very well be "The Invisible Woman"

But what we have to remember is that the Father sees us and appreciates us. We are doing exactly what he created us to do. We are raising up His Cathedral. So as I sign off here and go fold another load of laundry, pick up Hotwheels off the floor for the upteenth time, and start planning what's for dinner I am going to put a smile on my face knowing that I am raising up my husband, my family, and myself as HE watches. I might not get a verbal thank you from anyone, but when my husband has a clean outfit tomorrow for work, and my children go to bed and say "Goodnight Mom, love you" that's all the thanks I need.
